Overview

The Admin module in Beeswax allows the creation of new accounts and account groups, users and roles, and alert settings. From the perspective of a client, managing accounts within the buzz UI is important for the case of provisioning and allocating specific settings that may pertain specifically to certain advertisers within the account.

Accessing Admin Module

To access the Admin module, click the Admin menu at the top of the screen in Beeswax.

Admin Module Features

Accounts

Buyer Cloud customers benefit from Multi-account functionality, which enables a single UI instance to support multiple business entities with separate accounts and no data overlap. This capability exists because Buyer Cloud customers receive a unique buzz key that activates a UI instance with the ability to create multiple business accounts with their own custom bidder configuration.

In comparison, DSP customers who log into dsp.beeswax.com are limited to single account access rather than having the ability to create multiple business accounts.

To reset an account password, select "Forget Password" at the login screen.

What is a Buzzkey?

A Buzzkey is a unique identifier used exclusively within FreeWheel’s Buyer Cloud platform to establish and manage customer access. It’s a distinctive alphanumeric string (up to 20 characters) that represents an individual customer’s instance of the user interface. Think of it as a customer’s digital “namespace” within the Buyer Cloud ecosystem.

Alert Settings

A range of alerts keep users informed about various campaign activities, such as creative approvals, budget limits, campaign end dates, and video transcoding statuses. Alerts are delivered through three channels:

  1. UI Alerts: Visible in the top right corner of the interface, next to the bell icon.

  2. Email: Alerts can be sent to multiple email addresses, which should be entered in a comma-separated list without spaces.

  3. Slack: Alerts can be directed to specific Slack channels and are able to be customized with different emojis. To set this up, create a Slack channel, add your API key in the Buzz UI (obtained from Slack's API token page), and configure your alert settings by navigating to Admin > Alert Settings in the UI navigation bar.

Account Groups

Account Groups allow administrators to define a user’s access to a subset of accounts within the Buzz Key. If a user is associated to multiple Account Groups, they will have access to all accounts within those Account Groups. If a user is associated to an Account Group and has the All-Account Access flag set to Yes, the latter will take precedence, giving them access to all accounts in the Buzz Key.

User actions are defined by their assigned Role, but they may perform any of the allowable actions across the accounts to which they have access.

DSP customers should contact their account representative to add users to their account group. This step is necessary because the multi-account customer setting is not enabled for DSP customers, which prevents regular DSP account administrators from modifying the account access level for users

Users

Users are a way to create roles for an account that have varying permissions. Users are also appointed an "access level" which determines if the created user has access to the current accounts within the Buzz Key, all accounts, or current accounts with selectable account groups. When a new user is created under a Buzz Key, an email will then be sent to the provided email address, and the recipient will be asked to verify their email and define a password for use with the platform. Once this step is complete, the account will activate and the user will be able to log into the platform with the created email and password combination.

Roles

Roles are applied to users and govern which actions they can or cannot take. For users with administrator privileges, or have role creation rights, there is the ability to create new custom roles using the UI and API. For instructions on how to create new roles via API, see Roles.
