Assign an Ad Server Provider to a Placement

Ad Server providers are assigned to individual Placement lines through the Technology Assignments field on the Schedule grid. Once committed, Placements with a technology assignment become available as Ad Placements on the Ad Server grid.

To assign an Ad Server provider to a Placement, do the following:

  1. Open the desired media campaign.

  2. Navigate to the Schedule tab.

  3. Follow the steps in Assign an Ad Server to a Placement.

Map a OneStrata Supplier to an Ad Server Supplier

Prerequisite:

  • The user must be logged in to the Ad Server provider

To map a OneStrata Supplier entity to an Ad Server provider site/supplier, do the following:

  1. Open a campaign that the Ad Server provider has been assigned to.

  2. Navigate to the Ad Server dashboard.

  3. Optional: If the appropriate provider is not already selected, use the Provider list to select the desired provider.

  4. Click the Supplier Mapping button to open the Supplier/Site Mapping widget.

  5. In the Supplier/Site Mapping widget, do the following:

    1. For the desired Supplier entity, click the corresponding Supplier/Site Mapping cell to start editing.

    2. Enter at least three letters of the Ad Server provider supplier's name.

    3. Select the desired supplier.

    4. Click Apply.

Upload or Link a OneStrata Campaign to an Ad Server Campaign

 Uploading/linking a OneStrata campaign to a campaign on an external Ad Server provider creates a connection that enables OneStrata Ad Placements to be pushed to the ad server.

  • Upload a campaign: Create a new ad server campaign based on a OneStrata campaign, and link the OneStrata campaign to the newly created ad server campaign.
  • Link a campaign: Link a OneStrata campaign to an existing ad server campaign.

Upload a OneStrata Campaign to a New Ad Server Campaign

Prerequisite:

  • The user must be logged in to the Ad Server provider

To create a new ad server campaign and link a OneStrata campaign to the newly created ad server campaign, do the following:

  1. Open a campaign that the Ad Server provider has been assigned to.

  2. Navigate to the Ad Server dashboard.

  3. Click the Link Campaign button to open the Link Campaign widget.

  4. In the Link Campaign widget:
    Field NameStep(s)
    Create Campaign / Existing CampaignSelect the Create Campaign option.
    Advertiser
    1. Search for an advertiser by entering at least three letters of the advertiser name. Only advertisers that are configured within the Ad Server provider are displayed.
    2. Select the desired advertiser.
    Name

    Choose one of the following options:

    • Keep the automatically generated ad server campaign name. By default, the ad server campaign name is the same as the OneStrata campaign name, but may be different if an ad server campaign name formula has been created.

    • Edit the desired ad server campaign name.


  5. Depending on the specific Ad Server provider, additional information may be necessary. Fill in any additional required fields.

  6. Click the Create & Link button to create a new ad server campaign and link the OneStrata campaign to the newly created ad server campaign. 

Prerequisite:

  • The user must be logged in to the Ad Server provider

To link a OneStrata campaign to an existing ad server campaign, do the following:

  1. Open a campaign that the Ad Server provider has been assigned to.

  2. Navigate to the Ad Server dashboard.

  3. Click the Link Campaign button to open the Link Campaign widget.

  4. In the Link Campaign widget:

    Create Campaign / Existing CampaignSelect the Existing Campaign option.
    Advertiser
    1. Search for an advertiser by entering at least three letters of the advertiser name. Only advertisers that are configured within the Ad Server provider are displayed.

    2. Select the desired advertiser.
    Campaign
    1. Search for an ad server campaign by entering at least three letters of the campaign name. Only campaigns that are contained by the selected advertiser are displayed.

    2. Select the desired ad server campaign.

    Read-only

    Date Range

    The value of the Date Range field is automatically populated from the selected ad server campaign and cannot be changed within OneStrata.



  5. Click the Link button to link the OneStrata campaign to the ad server campaign.

View the Details of a Linked Ad Server Campaign

To view information about an external ad server campaign that a OneStrata campaign has been linked to, do the following:

  1. Open the desired campaign.

  2. Navigate to the Ad Server dashboard.

  3. Click the View Campaign button (see Ad Server Dashboard UI Elements, item 9) to open the View Campaign widget.

In the View Campaign widget, the following information about the linked ad server campaign is available:

  • Linked By: The OneStrata user who linked the ad server campaign

  • Linked Date: The date that the ad server campaign was linked

  • Advertiser: The name and identification number of the ad server advertiser, in the ad server

  • Campaign: The name of the ad server campaign, in the ad server

  • External ID: The identification number of the ad server campaign, in the ad server

  • Date Range: The flight dates of the ad server campaign, in the ad server

Unlink a OneStrata Campaign from an Ad Server Campaign

Unlinking a OneStrata campaign from an ad server campaign is only possible if no Ad Placements have been uploaded to the ad server campaign yet.

To unlink a OneStrata campaign from a campaign on an external Ad Server provider, do the following:

  1. Open the desired campaign.

  2. Navigate to the Ad Server dashboard.

  3. Click the View Campaign button (see Ad Server Dashboard UI Elements, item 9) to open the View Campaign widget.

  4. At the bottom of the View Campaign widget, click Unlink.

View the Delivery Metrics of a Linked Ad Server Placement 

Prerequisite:

If an Ad Placement is linked to an ad server placement, the ad server placement's delivery metrics (vendor delivery cost and number of delivered units) are available on the Standard Actualization grid, located on the Actualization tab.

To view the delivery metrics of a linked ad server placement, do the following:

  1. Open the desired campaign.

  2. Navigate to the campaign's Actualization tab. By default, the Actualization tab opens on the Standard Actualization grid.

  3. On the Standard Actualization grid, do the following:

    1. Identify the Actualization grid line that represents the Ad Placement linked to the ad server placement, using the (Cost Line) ID or External ID values. Delivery data is broken out by billing period month, corresponding to a Billing Period line.

    2. If necessary, scroll horizontally until the 3rd Party Cost and 3rd Party Unit columns are reached.

      The 3rd Party Cost field displays the linked insertion order's vendor delivery cost, and the 3rd Party Unit field displays the linked insertion order's number of delivered units. For more information, see Standard Actualization Grid Reference.
