Overview

The Analytics page provides tooling to explore and visualize the data entered and created within OneStrata, like information about a campaign's budget or the unique identification number of a specific Order. The results of a query can be saved and shared, internally or externally.

Analytics Terms and Concepts

This section contains information about terms and concepts related to analytics in OneStrata.

About Dimensions, Measures, and Tables

Queries are requests for information, and the fields in a query specify what type of information to return. There are two types of fields, dimensions and measures. Related fields are grouped into tables.

TermDescription
Dimension

A field that represents an attribute. For example, the Start Date of a campaign or the External Link Status of an Ad Placement.

In the query results data table, located in the Data section, dimensions appear as blue columns.

Measure

A field that represents quantitive information and that can be used in a calculation. For example, Client Net Amount (CC) or Impressions.

In the query results data table, located in the Data section, measures appear as orange-brown columns.

Table

A group of related fields. For example, the Flight Period table contains attributes related to flight periods, like their start and end dates.

About Calculated Fields

Calculated fields are user-created metrics and dimensions that are derived from one or more existing fields, including other calculated fields.

In the query results data table, located in the Data section, calculated fields appear as green columns.

A calculated field is restricted by the query that it is added to:

  • A calculated field depends on the results of the query; a calculated field can only be derived from other fields in the query.
  • A calculated field exists as long as the query does. In other words, if the query is not saved, the calculated field is not saved either.
  • A calculated field is only viewable and editable by the user that created it, unless the query that contains the calculated field is saved to the Group folder, a folder shared by users across the same OneStrata enterprise.

Like in Excel, calculated fields can be created by using basic mathematical operators—addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), division (/)—or built-in formulas.

For example, a calculated field might be created by taking the Clicks delivered and dividing it by the Number of Units ordered, in order to examine delivery pacing: Delivery Pacing = Clicks / Number of Units.

Calculated Field Format Options

All rounding is half-up rounding, where half-way values are always rounded up.

For example, when rounding to the nearest integer, any value less than 1.5 is rounded down to 1, and any value equal to or greater than 1.5 is rounded up to 2.

Calculated fields can be displayed in a variety of formatting options:

Format OptionDescription
Default formatting

Displays values as they are formatted in the OneStrata data warehouse.

ID

Displays numeric values as integers, with any non-integer values rounded to the nearest integer.

Decimals

There are five decimal place options:

  • 0: The value is rounded to the nearest integer
  • 1: The value is rounded to the nearest tenth place
  • 2: The value is rounded to the nearest hundredth place
  • 3: The value is rounded to the nearest thousandth place
  • 4: The value is rounded to the nearest ten thousandth place
U.S. Dollars

Displays numeric values like in the Decimals option, but with the U.S. dollar symbol ($) in front.

There are two decimal place options:

  • 0: The value is rounded to the nearest whole dollar
  • 2: The value is rounded to the nearest dollar and cents value
British Pounds

Displays numeric values like in the Decimals option, but with the British pound symbol (£) in front.

There are two decimal place options:

  • 0: The value is rounded to the nearest whole pound
  • 2: The value is rounded to the nearest pound and pence value
Euros

Displays numeric values like in the Decimals option, but with the euro symbol () in front.

There are two decimal place options:

  • 0: The value is rounded to the nearest whole euro
  • 2: The value is rounded to the nearest euro and cents value
Percent

Displays numeric values like in the Decimals option, but with the percent symbol (%) at the back.

Custom

Displays numeric values as specified by the user-entered Custom format formula.

Types of Folders

Reports and dashboard are saved and organized into folders. There are four types of folders:

  • Favorites
  • My Folder
