Overview

Start and end dates can be set at the creative level and at the creative-line item association level. This feature provides flexibility for time-based rules for delivering different creatives throughout a campaign. One use case involves a movie release. Before the movie release, the creative might include "Coming soon!" messaging, whereas after the movie release, it might read "In theaters now!" Another use case involves delivering specific creatives during a promotion window (e.g., "Father's Day Sale"), then switching back to standard creatives after the sale ends. With creative start and end dates, campaigns can schedule creatives for delivery without duplicating line items, breaking up budget, or adjusting frequency caps.

• At the creative level, optional "start date" and "end date" fields exist. Multiple start and end dates cannot be set on a single creative like line item flights.
  
  
• Start and end dates can also be set at the creative-line item association level.
  • Dates set at the creative level serve as defaults at the creative-line item association level. Start/end dates set at the creative-line item association level will override the creative-level dates.

At the creative level, an optional start and end date field exists. Like other date fields, both date and time can be specified.

Creative-Line Item Associations (from the line item workflow)

• When associating a creative to a line item, the "Add Association" button must be clicked.
  • Association start/end dates may be optionally added before clicking "Add Association" or later by editing the creative-line item association.
    
    
• Creative associations are displayed in a table view and can be edited by clicking the edit button.
  
  
• Creative-Line Item Association flight dates override dates on the Creative object. If the creative's end date precedes the creative-line item association's end date, the creative remains eligible for associated line items.

If a start/end date is set at the creative level, it will be used as the default, but these dates will not be displayed at the creative-line item association level. An association start/end date will only be displayed if set specifically at the creative-line item association level.

• All previously discussed fields for adding and editing associations and start/end dates are included in the creative workflow.
• From the creative workflow, the line item can be made active or inactive by clicking the "Make Active" or "Make Inactive" button in the table view.
  
  
• This action affects the line item itself, not the creative-line item association.
