Overview

FreeWheel DSP has integrated with Blockgraph to help customers onboard data for audience targeting. The Blockgraph extension is particularly valuable because it enables the use of first-party data, which is crucial for marketers and advertisers aiming to better identify target audiences and display relevant ads at the right time. This integration is especially beneficial for customers who want to move away from traditional identifiers, such as IP addresses, and instead use a more modern approach with universal IDs.

How Does the Integration Work?

Customers can onboard taxonomy and segment data directly to an S3 bucket (with Blockgraph as the root folder). FreeWheel DSP is configured to receive data from all mutual customers from this location. Once the data is onboarded, customers will be able to access audience segments under the Your Segments folder within the UI. The integration works as follows:

The accessed Blockgraph segments are specific to the single client and are not shared with any other buzz key within the DSP.

  1. When editing the targeting of a line item that will use the FreeWheel ID extension, toggle the Segment Extension option to "Yes."

  2. From the Extension Vendor dropdown, select either Extend with FreeWheel ID Network or Maximum Reach (all vendors).

  3. In the Segment Extension dropdown, choose Household. Note that the extension will not work unless "Household" is selected.

  4. Click the Save & Continue button in the bottom-right corner of the screen to apply your changes.

Client Enablement

This feature is available for all customers. Please reach out to your account representative in order to get the process started for your customer.

  1. To enable Blockgraph segment uploads, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM), who will activate the feature.

  2. Once the feature is enabled, the CSM will provide the destination S3 bucket, which will need to be entered in the Blockgraph UI.

  3. Next, share the bucket policy generated in Step 2 with the appropriate CSM for final setup. Data should be available in the taxonomy for usage within 6 hours of onboarding.

  4. After the final setup is complete, deliveries can be initiated.

  5. The segments will start appearing in the First Party section of segments.

Please note that the taxonomy will only be available to the customer who onboarded it.

  6. To serve the segments, ensure that the FreeWheel ID Network extension is enabled.
