Overview The Applications module is a centralized hub for partners to view and manage their API applications, displayed in a searchable, filterable table. Applications appear from both tiers of access: sandbox environments provided by FreeWheel for testing, and client network access granted by individual clients. This module allows partners to oversee their API access across FreeWheel test and client networks, confirm their permissions, and access credentials to generate API access tokens. You must register as a partner before you can access the Applications module. For more information on registering for Partner Portal, see . Workflow Use the following steps to access the FreeWheel sandbox with test data or a client network with client data. Access the Sandbox Log in to Partner Portal with your username and password . For more information on signing up for Partner Portal, see . Locate the application named Sandbox [Partner Name] . Click the three-dot Actions menu on the right side, then click Generate Credentials . The Client ID & Secret widget will open. Save the client ID and client secret in a secure location. To close the widget, click the checkbox to confirm that you understand credentials cannot be viewed again. Credentials expire 6 months from the time of creation. For security reasons, credentials only appear once after they are generated. FreeWheel support cannot recover lost credentials. If you lose your credentials, you can regenerate them instead of creating a new application. You will receive an email notification 4 weeks before credentials expire. Click the three-dot Actions button next to the application to rotate your credentials when they are close to expiration. Generate an access token with the client ID and client secret using the following cURL command. Tokens expire in 1 hour. curl -X POST \
  https://api.freewheel.tv/auth/token \
  -H 'content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded' \
  --data-urlencode 'grant_type=client_credentials' \
  --data-urlencode 'client_id=<client_id>' \
--data-urlencode 'client_secret=<client_secret>' Use the sandbox base URL https://api.sandbox.freewheel.tv/ and your access token to call any of the supported APIs listed in . The sandbox base URL differs from the client network base URL used throughout the FreeWheel API documentation . When making API calls to the sandbox, replace the client network base URL in each request with the sandbox base URL. For instructions on how to use your access token with an API request, refer to For details on fetching, creating, and deleting sandbox data with the API, refer to the API documentation linked in . The following test data entities are included in the sandbox: Ad Unit Ad Unit Packages Advertisers Agencies Campaigns Insertion Orders Placements Creatives Site Groups Site Section Sites Videos Video Groups Video Series Yield Optimization Distributions Programmatic Buyers Programmatic Deals Access a Client Network Once you receive an email notifying you that the client has granted access, log in to Partner Portal with your username and password .
