Actualization Terms and Concepts Actualization is the process by which actual delivery metrics of a campaign are received from a Supplier or a third party and compared to the original schedule. Once these delivery metrics are reviewed by the Agency, the schedule is actualized, and that information is shared with finance for approved amounts to be paid to Suppliers. Types of Actualization In OneStrata, there are two types of actualization: Standard actualization Margin actualization Actualization Type Description Standard actualization The actualization of committed standard schedule lines, which are media and non-media lines in the Schedule grid that have been committed and that have a Cost Method value of Standard . For more information, see Cost Methods . Margin actualization The Margin workflow is a gated feature and not enabled by default. If the Margin workflow is not enabled, the Margin Actualization grid is not available. To enable this feature, contact your OneStrata representative. The actualization of committed margin schedule lines, which are media and non-media lines in the Schedule grid that have been committed and that have a Cost Method value of Margin . For more information, see Cost Methods . Types of Delivery Balance Roll When actualizing, there are four ways that any under- or over-delivery balance can be distributed over future months: Rollover Type Description Visualization None The under- or over-delivery balance is not distributed. Instead, the values on the original Schedule grid line are updated. Proportionally The under- or over-delivery balance is evenly distributed over the remaining months of the campaign. Next Month The entire under- or over-delivery balance is carried over to the next month of the campaign. Last Month The entire under- or over-delivery balance is carried over to the final month of the campaign. Types of Actual Value Sources When a Cost Line is actualized, the actual values (the values of the columns in the table below) are sent to the external financial system: Actualization Grid Actual Value Columns Standard Actualization grid Actual Cost for Period Actual Rate Actual Units Margin Actualization grid Vendor Net Cost (VC) Margin % Client Net Cost (VC) Actual Units There are different sources from which these actual values can come. The following table describes the actual value source types: Actual Value Source Type Description Manual The actual values are entered by the user. Committed The actual values come from the committed schedule. Site The Site source only applies to Cost Lines linked to an external entity in a DSP, Search, or Social provider. The actual (delivered) values are provided by the external integration provider. Depending on the provider, only delivered costs, only delivered units, or delivered costs and units may be provided. Possible Site sources: Vendor Inbox : For Cost Lines sent to an in-system Order Partner. FreeWheel DSP (DSP provider): For Cost Lines linked to a FreeWheel DSP campaign. DV360  (DSP provider): For Cost Lines linked to a DV360 insertion order. The Trade Desk (DSP provider): For Cost Lines linked to a campaign in The Trade Desk. Google Ads (Search provider): For Cost Lines linked to a Google Ads campaign. Meta  (Social provider): For Cost Lines linked to a Meta campaign. 3rd Party The 3rd Party source only applies to Cost Lines linked to an external placement in an Ad Server provider. The actual (delivered) units are provided by the Ad Server provider. Only delivered units are provided by the Ad Server provider; any delivered cost values are calculated by the system. Possible 3rd Party sources: CM360 : For Ad Placements linked to a CM360 placement. Innovid : For Ad Placements linked to an Innovid placement. Media The Media source is only available for Assigned fees. The fee costs and units are calculated by the system, using the associated media Cost Line as a base. Since the costs and units of an Assigned fee depend on the costs and units of the media Cost Line that the fee is assigned to, the media Cost Line that the fee is assigned to should be actualized before the fee is actualized. For more information, see Actualize an Assigned Fee Cost Line . Verified The Verified source is only available for Cost Lines that are linked to an external ad server placement (via an Ad Placement) with ad verification. The actual (verified) units are provided by the Ad Verification provider. Only delivered units are provided by the Ad Verification vendor; any variance is calculated by the system. Possible Verified sources: IAS : For Ad Placements linked to a CM360 or Innovid placement with IAS verification. The value of Verified Units is equivalent to IAS's Viewable Impressions metric. Effects of Applying an Actual Value Source The actual values can be entered manually or sourced externally: Actual Value Source Type Standard Actualization Grid Margin Actualization Grid Manual  User enters actual cost, units, or rate: Actual Cost for Period : Entered by the user or triangulated.
