# Create a Campaign

To create a campaign, navigate to **Trafficking** > **Campaigns **or select the :plus: <span style="color: #323232">button at the top-right of the UI and click </span><span style="color: #323232">**Campaign**</span><span style="color: #323232">.</span>

1. When creating a campaign, a window appears that allows choosing both an **Advertiser** to assign the campaign to, and the desired **Campaign Name**. The campaign name cannot be longer than three characters.

> ℹ️ Once the advertiser has been selected and the campaign has been given a name, there are alternate options to either **Create & Close** to finish later, or **Create & Start Another **to begin creating a new one.

2. The next view will display [General](#General-Tab), [Modifiers](#Modifiers-Tab), and [Summary](#Summary-Tab) tabs, which must be completed to finish the campaign setup. Please view the following fields below:

# General Tab

> ℹ️ Before entering information for a campaign, there is an option to "Select Campaign Preset" on the top right of the General tab screen. To learn more, please see [Presets](https://freewheel-knowledge-hub.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BC/pages/114295084).

## Essential Settings*

The settings in this section relate to the key components of a campaign, including start/end date, Currency type, Continents, and Budget. 

***Required**

| **Field Name** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Start/End Date* | To schedule a campaign, set a Start Date and an optional End Date. If an End Date is not set, the campaign will continue running until it runs out of Budget or is made inactive. |
| Default Line Item Preset | Select a pre-created line item preset via drop-down. |
| Default Targeting Preset | Select a pre-created targeting preset via drop-down. |
| Currency* | Select the desired currency this campaign will operate in. |
| Continents* | The continents on which this campaign will run. |
| Budget Type* | > ⚠️ Line item budgets must be the same as the budget used in the campaign that houses the line item.<br>Budget types at the line item level can be one of the following types:<br>1. **Impressions** - based on the number of impressions
2. **Spend** - based on a dollar amount

| Budget* | Overall budget of the campaign. The budget type applied to the campaign must be used for any associated line items as well. |
| Daily Budget | Daily budget cap of the campaign. Spend will not exceed this amount. |
| Alternative ID | Any number or string. Used to map this object to an object in the system. |
| Notes | An additional field for desired notes specific to the campaign. |

## Frequency Cap

> ℹ️ Up to three frequency caps are allowed at the campaign level. Additional frequency caps can also be set at the line item level. See [Frequency Caps](https://freewheel-knowledge-hub.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BC/pages/115114305) for more information.

When trafficking a campaign, there is an option to set a frequency cap to restrict the number of times a particular ad will be shown to a particular user. Select an ID type and enter a frequency cap amount. The ID Type will display a drop-down with the following options: Standard, IP Address, Person ID, and Household ID. | ID Type | Choose the type of ID to which the frequency cap will be applied. Options include:<br>- Standard (cookie or device type)
- IP Address
- Customer ID
- Person ID
- Household ID |

## Vendor Fees

Vendor Fees are a mechanism to optionally incorporate serving costs associated with third-party vendors into media spend and reporting for the advertising platform. This allows for a more comprehensive view of total campaign expenses within the system's analytics and financial tracking. | **Field Name** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Vendor | Choose a vendor from the dropdown who will be acquiring these fees. |
| Vendor Fee Name | Free-form field to type an alternative name for the vendor. This will be auto-populated with the vendor’s name selected via drop-down. |
| Fee Type | Either CPM or a percentage of the fee amount. |
| Fee Amount | Specify a numerical or percentage figure to represent the fee amount. |

## Conversion Tag Association

> ℹ️ To associate a conversion tag, it must be set to allow only selected campaigns for attribution.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ Associating a conversion tag will preclude other campaigns from receiving attribution through that conversion tag, unless their association is also manually added. Conversion tags with no specific association set will be eligible for all campaigns.

Conversion tags are used to track conversions, installs, or other key activities. If the advertiser selected in the campaign creation process has an associated conversion tag, the dropdown will allow that conversion tag to be selected. | Conversion Tag | A drop-down selection list of conversion tags created for the account. Multiple associations may be applied. |
| Add Another Association | Click to associate another conversion tag to this campaign. |

## <span style="color: #000000">Revenue</span>

<span style="color: #000000">A revenue type and amount may be set on</span> a campaign and be used to report on the revenue earned from running a given campaign. Then, the profit margin can be calculated by subtracting the total spend from the revenue. ## <span style="color: #000000">Segment Extension</span>

> ℹ️ If using an extension for the campaign to gather additional data with providers such as LiveRamp or FreeWheel ID Network, select the vendor via dropdown, and the specific segment extension. ## <span style="color: #000000">SKAd Network</span>

SKAdNetwork is an attribution framework designed for mobile app install attribution on iOS 14 and later versions. SKAd tracking cannot be enabled if it is disabled on the advertiser chosen for the campaign. ## <span style="color: #000000">Experiments</span>

Experiments allow targeting different line items to sets of non-overlapping users for comparison of results to test performance. Also known as “A/B Testing” or “Randomized Control Studies”, the experiments feature creates isolated subsets of users and ensures these users are only exposed to their assigned line items.

# <span style="color: #000000">Modifiers Tab</span>

## <span style="color: #000000">Bid and Delivery Modifiers</span>

> ℹ️ There is an option to "Choose Existing" when creating a modifier. This will present a dropdown of pre-created options created on the account level. To learn more, please see [Bid Modifier](https://freewheel-knowledge-hub.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BC/pages/114393262).

Buyer Cloud allows the creation of lists for criteria on bid modifiers and delivery modifiers according to various targeting modules and keys. Bid modifier terms use targeting keys to adjust the bid price, while delivery modifiers allocate delivery weight to specific inventory in real time based on the set rules. ## <span style="color: #000000">Adding Modifier Terms</span>

1. From the modifier creation screen, click **Add Bid or Delivery Modifier Terms**.
2. A list of various selectable targeting fields will be available to include.
3. Once the modifier term for targeting has been selected, a value should be applied to that term. For example, if a delivery modifier term of "Language" was selected, a specific language value such as "Italian" must be applied. 4. Now that the modifier term has been added, there are fields to complete alongside the term to assign priority. These fields will be different depending on which modifier was selected. Please see the bottom of this section for both term fields.
5. Once the desired terms have been selected and the correct values are applied, click **Save Bid or Delivery Modifier**.

| Advertiser* | Select the advertiser on the account for this modifier to be applied to. This may be configured as an "Account-Level modifier." |
| Bid Model | Select a bid model via the dropdown. Matching bid model’s values will be multiplied by bid modifier terms. |
| Max Bid* | Final bid prices will be capped at this value. |
| Min Bid | Final bid prices will be floored at this value. |
| Alternative ID | Custom alternative ID that may be used for separate reporting needs. |
| Notes | Relevant notes for this bid modifier. |

  - Select a pre-created model and apply a Fallback Weight. |

| Alt ID | Custom alternative ID that may be used for separate reporting needs. |

# <span style="color: #000000">Summary Tab</span>

<span style="color: #000000">The Summary tab displays the essential settings, modifiers, and status of the campaign. In order to change a setting, creative, or enable the campaign, click that element and be directed back to its page. From this screen, it is also possible to set this created campaign as a "Campaign Preset". When creating a new campaign, this preset may be found at the top right of the General screen by clicking "Select Campaign Preset". </span>

# Campaign Creation Features

## Campaign Duplication

Once the campaign settings have been completed, there is an option to duplicate the selected campaign information for future campaigns. To duplicate, select the ellipses on the top right corner of the campaigns screen, then select **Duplicate**. Additionally, duplication can be done from the Campaign list view by clicking the ellipses to the right of the campaign name.

From this view, type the desired name for this duplication and choose the settings from this campaign to duplicate, along with a number of copies to make. Once the selections have been confirmed, users may "Duplicate and Continue" to get back to the campaign creation process. Alternatively, clicking "Duplicate and Close" will create the duplication and close out of the campaign creation screen. 

> ℹ️ If selecting more than one copy to duplicate, only the "Duplicate & Close" option will be selectable.

## Activity Log 

> ℹ️ Activity Log will only appear once a campaign has been created.

Once the campaign is created, an activity log is available to view by selecting **Campaign Name** > **Activity Log** tab. If on the campaign list view screen, the activity log is viewable by clicking the ellipses to the right of the campaign name, then selecting **Activity Log.**

This log is a view of the different changes an activity that has been done to this selected campaign. See the table below for the viewable fields:

| Log ID | An associated Log ID to the specific activity. |
| Category | The location of the change within the Campaign settings. |
| Field | The field in the Campaign settings that was altered. |
| Added | Any settings added. |
| Removed | Any settings removed |
| Action | <span style="color: #323232">The specific action that was taken during the change. Options include: Update, Create, and Delete.</span><br>Select the **Action **heading to filter activity log entries by action type. |
| Date & Time | Date & Time of the activity.<br><span style="color: #323232">Select the </span>**Date & Time **<span style="color: #323232">heading to filter activity log entries by date.</span> |
| User & ID | The User & ID of the user who made the change. |
| Review & Restore | Restore a previous version of this activity to be applied to the Campaign. |
