# Overview

Deals are an advanced agreement on purchased inventory between a buyer and seller. Deals present opportunities for publishers to charge premiums on their inventory or pre-negotiate terms that create the best opportunity on both sides of a transaction.

After creating a deal, line items can target that deal under the [App/Site targeting](https://freewheel-knowledge-hub.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BC/pages/115310640) section, and reportable data for the deal's performance will be available in the Deal Report

## Deal Categories

Deals in Buyer Cloud are placed into three different categories, based on how they were created:

- **Manual Deals**: Deals created within the Buyer Cloud UI. Create a manual deal when you have made a deal with a publisher that does not use FreeWheel for their deal management.
Manual Deals can be found in the Manual tab.
- **Synced Deals**: Deals created by publishers using FreeWheel Streaming Hub, SSP, or Curation Hub. These deals are automatically synced from FreeWheel to Buyer Cloud using your seat ID.
Synced deals can be found in the Synced tab.
- **Curated Deals**: Advance agreements between Buyer Cloud and premium publishers. Curated deals are available to all Buyer Cloud customers and are automatically ready for activation.
Curated deals can be found in the Deal Marketplace tab.
