What is it? All Buyer Cloud customers now have one or more unique seat IDs, which can by passed by SSPs in bid requests. These new seat IDs are persistent across all SSPs.
There are two types of seat IDs:
| Seat Type | Description | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Seat | Every customer receives a unique Customer Seat ID. | Use the Customer Seat ID when all accounts under one customer are eligible to bid on a deal. |
| Account Seat | Customers with more than one account also receive a unique Account Seat ID per account. Customer with only one account only receive a Customer Seat ID. | Use the Account Seat ID when only a specific account is eligible to bid on a deal. |
Previously, seat IDs were provisioned to customers upon request. These legacy seat IDs were SSP-specific, making it more challenging for publishers to set up deals with Buyer Cloud customers.
Additional impacts of the new seat ID taxonomy include the following:
Where is it? To view the seat ID for your account, go to the Admin module > Accounts > select an account. The new Account Seat ID section will be in the Overview tab.
When is it available? On February 10th, all customers will receive their unique seat IDs. These seat IDs can be used right away to create deals with FreeWheel but not third-party SSPs. On February 24th, the unique seat IDs will be rolled out to all SSPs and clients can set up deals with any SSP using their new seat IDs.
Do I need to do anything? For customers with legacy seats, see Legacy Seat and Deal Migration.
